You can create weapons and armor by combining materials. As your Cardinal Rank rises and you acquire recipes, the range of equipment you can forge expands. There is no limit to how many weapons you can make, but armor can only be created once, as they are limited to one per type.

Out in the overworld and within dungeons, you may encounter obstacles such as rock piles, brambles, or wide ravines. These can be dealt with by using specific consumables. Stone Walls: Destroyed with a Bomb Stone or Mine. Bramble Walls: Burned away with a Flame Stone or Flame Mine.

Wide Ravines: Crossed using a Blink Talisman. While under its effect, jump near the light particles on either side to teleport over.

Monsters of the highest caliber. Trigger a battle with one and you will be trapped in a Boss Fight arena, and cannot leave until it is defeated.

Boss enemies are represented on the mini-map with the icon shown above.

A marker that indicates when parts of an enemy can be destroyed. Executing Destructive attacks on parts displaying this Break Marker will destroy them. Break Markers trigger in a variety of ways, depending on the enemy being fought; where one enemy may be vulnerable to Guard Breaks, another may need to be knocked down.

Slowly chips away at HP and reduces ATK temporarily. Can be cured and prevented with items such as Ice Essences. In addition, dodging will reduce the duration of this ailment.

Use {Act_AxisRotateCamera} to adjust the camera's perspective. You can revert the camera to its default position by pressing {Act_LockOn} when no enemies are nearby.

When an enemy is nearby, use {Act_LockOn} to lock on and center them on the screen. Alternate targets to the left or the right by using {Act_AxisRotateCamera}.

By pressing and holding {Act_HeavyAttack}, a Crush Attack will be unleashed upon release. These attacks are extremely powerful, but consume a lot of stamina and leave you vulnerable for a considerable amount of time.

Crush Attacks greatly reduce an enemy's guard, making it much easier to Guard Break foes.

Use the orb on the chest to access your data, improve your character, change equipment, organize your items, and manage your Partners.

Here you can equip and change out weapons and armor. You can also equip or remove a shield depending on your chosen weapon.

Allocate Growth Points earned when leveling up to improve your character's attributes.

Attributes affect weapon power. The higher a weapon's Ability Correction Value (ACV), the more your attributes affect your ATK.

Here you can manage the items in your possession. Item storage is divided between the pouch (taken with you on quests) and the chest (stored in your room).

Only consumable items can be placed in your pouch while in towns. There is a limit to the number of items you can fit in your pouch before a quest.

Here you can check your Partner's abilities or swap out their weapons.

Being discovered by an enemy begins combat, causing actions such as sprinting and dodging to begin costing stamina. Enemies that see you will also appear as red icons on the mini-map.

Extremely powerful weapon attacks made in conjunction with your Partner that consume Combo SP. Execute by holding {Act_ShiftModifier} and pressing {Act_CombinationSlashHold}. Combination Skills vary depending on your Partner.

An icon will light up when you have enough Combo SP to perform a Combination Skill. Combo SP can be accrued by attacking enemies.

Combination Skills deal significant damage against elite and boss enemies.

You can view the range of Combination Skills that activate on your position by holding down {Act_CombinationSlashHold}. You can also cancel activation by releasing {Act_ShiftModifier} while the indicator is displayed.

Items that can be used during quests to bestow a variety of effects. Press {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Left} / {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Up} / {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Right} to use the consumable item assigned to that input. Press and hold {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Left} / {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Up} / {Act_ItemBelt_Active_Right} to change the assigned item.
