You can execute a Perfect Dodge by dodge stepping (dodging without a shield equipped) right before an enemy's attack lands. Successfully performing a Perfect Dodge will recover a set amount of stamina. Attacks that can be Perfect Dodged differ between enemies.

Press {Act_NormalAttack} to perform a standard Light Attack. While these attacks aren't very powerful, they consume less stamina and can be executed in quick succession. The possible number of combo attacks depends on your equipped weapon type.

You can choose to play with up to three other players via the multiplayer mode found on the title screen. In multiplayer mode, you can opt to host your own session and receive help from guest players, or join another player's session as a guest.

In multiplayer, you can pick up allied players who are immobilized by paralysis, sleep, or other status ailments and carry them to a safe location. To pick up a fallen player, approach them and hold down {Act_ValuableAction}.

In multiplayer, you can revive incapacitated allies by using a Healing Crystal. To perform a revive, approach the fallen player and hold down {Act_ValuableAction}.

If an incapacitated player isn't revived quickly enough, they'll enter Spectator Mode and can only watch other players. Spectator Mode ends and control is restored to that player when the party rests at/teleports to a Safe Area—or if the party is wiped out, prompting a restart.

With a shield equipped, press {Act_Guard} just before an enemy's attack lands to parry it and stagger your foe. Attacks that can be parried differ between each enemy.

A slash technique that deals high damage. Pressing {Act_SlashTrigger} within a set time after a successful parry will trigger a follow-up attack by your Partner. Enemies hit by a Parry Slash will also be greatly staggered.

Tutorial Partner_01
The player's companion is equipped with various abilities. You can only bring one partner on a quest. If incapacitated, partners will automatically revive after some time has passed; however, you can speed up the process by approaching them and holding {Act_ValuableAction}.
Tutorial Partner_02
Your Partner's Focus is represented by a diamond-shaped gauge. High Focus allows them to avoid enemy attacks by dodging or guarding, but they will become more vulnerable to attack as the Focus gauge depletes.

Slowly chips away at HP for a set duration. Can be cured and prevented with antidotes.
