Water veins are occasionally found under the plateaus that make up a large portion of the 2nd Floor, and so wells are dug through the rocky mountains and towns built around them.

On the surface, their main duties are to broker requests and provide rewards to any who demonstrate exceptional performance; in reality, they ensure that the more powerful overworlders perform their duties without harming the people of Aincrad.
